We employ a full range of testing methodologies to help establish the source of moisture, evaluating its distribution, and establishing if it is a current or historic problem; strategies range from non-destructive moisture profiling utilising resistance meters and thermography, to full gravimetric moisture and salt analysis (as described in BRE Digest 245), which is the most accurate scientific assessment currently available.

In some circumstances i.e. disputes, only full quantitative analysis will suffice, and its destructive nature will be accepted. However, such interventions are not always acceptable: for instance, the vendor of a pristine up-for-sale house may not permit such disruption.This is when our experience and knowledge of building design, materials and defects, and our least invasive approach, will help ensure the most successful outcome.
